Where Do We Go From Here?: Resources to Support You During Times of Ongoing Polycrisis
Jan 20, 2025We are living through times of political and ecological instability and crises. I understand the seemingly endless grief, fear, and uncertainty that weigh on many of our minds and hearts, compounded by intergenerational and transhistorical traumas that we carry. As we witness the U.S. inauguration alongside all that is happening around the world, it is helpful to remember the importance of healing and resourcing ourselves. Polycrisis calls us to be nourished so that we can engage compassionate care among our communities.
Rather than being consumed by the present moment, we must do the inner work to get clear about our intentions, values, and what our werk is. In what Mary Oliver calls our “one wild and precious life,” how do we choose to live and be in this world? In spite of the hopelessness, numbness, and despair, what is within our agency is to heal, which allows us to discover our small and mighty role in this vast network of changemaking.
By facing the truth of what is happening, we can greet the suffering and tend to the anger, grief, and loss that is calling for our attention. We can make intentional choices that reflect our values, rather than acting out of reactivity. By deepening our resourcing and spaciousness, we can more wisely discern the path of compassionate action in our practice as New Saints.
Here are some resources that may be supportive for you at this time and on the long journey of healing and liberation:
Love, Power, and Liberation with Angela Davis and Lama Rod Owens, facilitated by Prentis Hemphill
This recorded conversation took place following the U.S. November 2024 election. We discussed finding refuge by building and gathering community as a response to our current political moment. This rich dialogue centers our radical vision for the future and for collective liberation.
Love and Rage: The Path of Liberation Through Anger Book and Self-Guided Course
Love and Rage is a personal and collective exploration of how unmetabolized anger – and the grief, hurt, and transhistorical trauma beneath it – needs to be explored, respected, and fully embodied to heal from heartbreak and walk the path of liberation. Rather than bypassing our anger, we can learn from it and honor its power as a vehicle for social and spiritual transformation. This book came out right before the 2020 U.S. presidential elections and is more relevant than ever.
If you’re interested in support towards activating your practice as you go through this book, I offer a self-directed Love and Rage course here that guides you through the various themes and chapters of the book.
The New Saints: From Broken Hearts to Spiritual Warriors
For those who have the willingness to allow our hearts to break open, disrupt systems of violence, and let deep, authentic care guide our actions instead of fear and hate, this book is a clarion call for becoming a spiritual warrior—a human refreshed, serving a vision of a world shaped by love.

Free Radicals: A Monthly Online Community Gathering
Community is and will remain an important resource and refuge to lean on during challenging times. Free Radicals is a monthly online community practice offered free/by donation at a UK-friendly time. This is an ongoing opportunity to gather together with the intention of supporting personal practice and collective freedom. All are welcome!
My hope is that these resources can be helpful for you at this time. My intention and commitment is to continue to do the werk of liberation, and for my medicine to reach all those with whom it resonates. May we all be well and well resourced on our path towards liberation.
